Quests are hidden goals related to different characters or areas in Black Myth: Wukong. By completing a questline players can unlock character Portraits, obtain rare rewards, Spells or even unlock new areas to explore. The quests are not marked in any way in the game and many require finding certain Key Items.

Black Wind Mountain[]
Three Bells' Questline[]
You will need to find the three bells and ring them. You will then be transported to a new secret location Ancient Guanyin Temple.
Yuan Shoucheng's Questline[]
An old man who can be encountered in the first five chapters. You will need to speak with him in each of the five locations. You must have your regular gourd upgraded to +9 and at the fifth location you can interact with the fire to obtain a +10 gourd.
He can first be found from the Bamboo Grove's Snake Trail Shrine, just continue ahead and he will be on the right after a few meters.
Ma Tianba's Questline[]
A horse guai that can be encountered in the first five chapters. You will need to speak with him in each of the five locations and then defeat Keeper of the Flaming Mountains. After that, return to his fifth location to complete his questline.
He can first be found in Bamboo Grove's Back Hills. From the Shrine, continue forward and upon seeing the first enemies, turn left. There will be a small path leading to a cave with Ma Tianba inside.
(Return) Four Loongs Questline[]
Red Loong is located in a secret area "Loong Claw Grove", reachable from Forest of Wolves' Outside the Forest area. The area is protected by a waterfall and requires Loong Scales to dispel it.
Mandrill Chief's Questline[]
Upon reaching the wooden bridge noting the "Forest of Wolves" (soon after the first Keeper's Shrine), proceed forward, at the end you can turn right to fight Bullguard, instead turn left and going a bit, you will see a mandrill guai that can be encountered in different chapters that is looking around and then jumps into the water. Next to it is a head stone where the Skandha of Form can be found.
You will need to collect four skandhas: Skandha of Form, Skandha of Feeling, Skandha of Thought and Skandha of Choice. Then defeat Giant Shigandang in Mount Huaguo to obtain Skandha of Consciousness. Return to Xu Dog to turn them into a pill and complete the quest.
Yellow Wind Ridge[]
Xu Dog's Questline[]
You will need to speak meep with Xu Dog in Sandgate Village and defeat Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw next to him. Speak with him again, and later you can find him in Crouching Tiger Temple's Cellar, where he allows the Destined One to brew Celestial Medicines for permanent stat buffs and sells special Medicine formulas.
Two-Headed Rat Guai's Questline[]
You will need to talk to a Two-Headed Rat Guai hiding in a house in Sandgate Village. After exhausting his dialogue, he can be found later in Pagoda Realm, dead in a cell with The Third Prince.
Ma Tianba's Questline (cont'd)[]
His second location is in Sandgate Village just past the Earth Wolf, tied to a column. Exhaust the dialog to proceed the questline.
Four Loongs Questline[]
From the Sandgate Village's Valley of Despair Shrine head into the cave ahead and to where the First Prince of the Flowing Sands fight was. During his fight you can make him hit the wall to make a crack in it. Alternatively, you can use the Wandering Wight to headbutt the wall and break it open or with Azure Dust. Go in and you will be a secret treasure room with a single chest in it. The Loong Scales are inside.
Black Loong is located in a secret area "Hidden Loong Cavern", reachable from Fright Cliff's Rockrest Flat area. The area is protected by a sand waterfall and requires Loong Scales to dispel it. Head back to Black Wind Mountain's Forest of Wolves to find the Red Loong. After defeating the Four Loongs, the quest is complete.
Man-in-Stone's Questline[]
From the Fright Cliff's Squall Hideout Shrine, go a bit to the right and continue forward. You will see a rock guai on the left and Spearbone on the right. Continue between them into the ravine and at the end you will see him. You can talk with him and he will ask you to defeat Mother of Stones. After defeating her, you will obtain Stone Essence. Head back to him and give it to him. He will then come out from the ground. You can then attack him and once you defeat him, he will go back underground. Now interact with him again and you will receive Azure Dust spell. You can talk with him if you return later, you can purchase goods from him.
Buddha's Eyeballs Questline[]
You need to collect six Buddha's Eyeballs in Fright Cliff and then interact with the stone with faces to spawn Shigandang boss.
- The first is located a bit after entering the Fright Cliff area, its before the Shrine.
- For the second, head left from the Squall Hideout Shine, and stick to the left side. After a bit you will see a big cave, head towards it and turn left. You will start hearing the chanting before you start turning. As you turn left, you will see the Buddha head straight ahead.
- From the shrine, go right and you will see an enemy on the left (after a few steps). Continue past him and you will eventually see a stone bridge on your right to cross the small gap and some shooting enemies on some platforms on the right. Cross the bridge, and head up the platforms. At the top, you can find the third eye.
- From the third, just turn around and you will see it directly on the other side. Return to the stone bridge and continue left, and it will be on your left side after a bit.
- From Rockrest Flat Shrine, turn back and head into the cave. As you enter, turn right and go following that path. At the end of the path you will find Mother of Stones. To the right side, there will be cave exit, go there and turn right and you will see the eyeball on the platform.
- From Rockrest Flat Shrine, turn left and go straight ahead. The Buddha head is visible from the shrine position, and is on the left to the wall.
Mandrill Chief's Questline (cont'd)[]
The Skandha of Feeling is dropped by Shigandang upon its defeat.
Tiger and Stone Mask's Questline[]
You will need to defeat Tiger Vanguard in Crouching Tiger Temple and Stone Vanguard in Fright Cliff to obtain Keenness of Tiger and Sternness of Stone. The two items then can be used to unlock three big doors in Yellow Wind Ridge, which serve as shortcuts.
Yellow-Robed Squire's Questline[]
Yellow-Robed Squire is part of the boar quest that leads to the secret area Kingdom of Sahali. First you will need to find the drunken boar located in Fright Cliff's Rockrest Flat. From the Shrine continue forward and past the Spearbone. At the next area, the drunken boar will be sitting in the middle. Talk with him and he will require an item to sober up. Now head to Yellow Wind Formation's Windrest Bridge, and after the bridge turn left. Then around the end take a right and on the left you will see a small house you can enter and break a jar. Inside the jar is Sobering Stone, which you need to return to the boar guai in Rockrest Flat. After that the boar guai will move to Crouching Tiger Temple's Temple Entrance. Head upstairs and take the second right. He will ask for a Jade Lotus, which can be purchased from the Keeper's Shrine. Now you can go to where the boar guai was in Rockrest Flat. At his area, turn right and you will see the Yellow-Robed Squire. If you posses Arhat Gold Piece, he will turn hostile. After he is defeated, he will ask you to follow him to the secret area Kingdom of Sahali. To enter, just continue forward to the big gates after the fight and go inside.
Old Rattle-Drum's Questline[]
You need to defeat Tiger's Acolyte to obtain Old Rattle-Drum, then use it in three locations:
- From Sandgate Village's Valley of Despair, open the big gates on the right (Tiger and Stone Vanguard must have been defeated). Then continue down the stairs. At the end, you will see a Spearbone in front of a rope bridge. Instead, turn right and you will come to a dead end but the screen will turn gray and you will be asked to use the drum. Alternatively, this can be reached from Yellow Wind Formation's Windseal Gate. Continue following the path after Gore-Eye Daoist and you will come to the rope bridge. Then, instead of going uphill, turn left.
- From Yellow Wind Formation's Windrest Hamlet, turn back to the gate you opened with the three Rat Imperial Guards. After the gate, turn left and you will come to a dead end with praying Withered Corpses. The screen will again turn gray. Alternatively you can reach it from Windrest Bridge and going forward and turning right before the gate.
- From Sandgate Village's Valley of Despair, turn back towards the village and where you fought Earth Wolf. Continue past the wolf, following the wall on the left and you will come to a dead end corner. The screen will turn gray again and a boy will show up and invite you to go into the well. Go inside the well and defeat the Mad Tiger.
Yuan Shoucheng's Questline (cont'd)[]
His second location can be found from the Crouching Tiger Temple's Cellar Shrine. Go downhill and turn right, continue until the end and he will be there. Alternatively, from the Yellow Wind Formation, Windseal Gate Shrine, go downhill and turn left, and go all the way to the back.
The New West[]
The Third Prince's Questline[]
Next to your cell in Pagoda Realm, you can find The Third Prince mentioned in Yellow Wind Ridge. You will need to defeat Captain Lotus-Vision to enter the cell, and then defeat Captain Wise-Voice, Captain Kalpa-Wave and Captain Void-Illusion.
- From Upper Pagoda Shrine, just turn around and after a few steps drop down. Captain Lotus-Vision is waiting there.
- Captain Wise-Voice is located in Pagoda Realm's Mani Wheel. From the Shrine, just cross the hand-like bridge to enter inside the building.
- From Valley of Ecstasy's Longevity Road Shrine, turn around and head left, then continue going forward. Soon you will see a dot indicating an interaction. That is Captain Void-Illusion's body who is already defeated. Interact with it to obtain its Spirit.
- From Valley of Ecstasy's Longevity Road Shrine, go forward and turn right. Continue going forward and Captain Kalpa-Wave will be in standing in the New Thunderclap Temple's entrance.
- Once you have the four spirits from them, return to his cell to complete his quest.
Yuan Shoucheng's Questline (cont'd)[]
His third location is found from the Pagoda Realm's Warding Temple. Just go uphill, and he will be there along with Macaque Chief trying to attack him. This is on the main path and is unmissable.
Four Loongs Questline (cont'd)[]
Cyan Loong is located in Bitter Lake's Turtle Island. He can be fought after starting the fight with Kang-Jin Star (automatic story progression). You can defeat her and then fight Cyan Loong, or if you get to die in the battle with her, you can then face Cyan Loong first and then re-battle Kang-Jin Star. From the shrine, just turn right and go straight and drop a bit from the edge. Cyan Loong is sitting fishing on the edge, covered in snow. You need the Loong Scales to awaken him.
Turtle General's Questline[]
Once the Destined One reaches Bitter Lake, he will find himself on the back of Turtle General. With Zhu Bajie, they will land on the North Shore of Bitter Lake. Then, following the beach line to the far right, they will discover a giant snake skeleton. After interacting with it, Zhu Bajie will inform the Turtle General that Snake General had passed away. Turtle General will then cry and drop a green tear. Zhu Bajie then tells the Destined One collect it, as it's precious. Upon doing so, he will obtain Turtle Tear.
Chen Loong's Questline[]
Chen Loong can be found near Bitter Lake's North Shore. From the Shrine, turn left and follow the path. Cheng Loong will be in the water shore on the left. When first encountered, Chen Loong will be hostile and attacks the Destined One. Upon his defeat, he begins lamenting of his fall from grace and cries of his wish to consume a Resurrection Pill from Xu Dog once again. If the Destined One visits Xu Dog and brings back Chen Loong's pill, he will gratefully hand his Ruyi Scroll over to the Destined One, giving him access to the Painted Realm, where he and the other Zodiacs now reside. If the Destined One visits him in the Painted Realm, Chen Loong can take care of their Seeds before later providing their harvest. This is required for the Seeds to Sow Achievement.
Treasure Hunter's Questline[]
From the Shrine in Bitter Lake's North Shore, turn left and follow the beach line. Then go through the gate and continue going forward. You will run into a Treasure Hunter who is attacked by three Apramāṇa Bats. Defeat them to save him and talk to him. Next, you will find the Treasure Hunter in Valley of Ecstasy's Towers of Karma. From the Shrine turn back and go straight. He will be close and sitting on a tree. He is freezing and you need to use Ring of Fire in front of him to activate a cutscene in him warming up. Talk to him. Head from Valley of Ecstasy's Brook of Bliss, turn left and drop on the right side of the bridge. Continue down the river and at the end, you can go do on the right side. Follow the path down and you will reach Melon Field Shrine at the bottom. Now just head into the big cave and Green-Capped Martialist will be there. A cutscene will start and Green-Capped Martialist will show up.
The Fox's Questline[]
You need to interact with a dead fox on a body in Valley of Ecstasy near the Forest of Felicity Shrine, which will give you Snow Fox Brush. Use it to turn into a fox and find Non-Void in order to turn him hostile. He can be found in the New Thunderclap Temple Entrance Shrine. Go through the main building in front, head left up the stairs and keep going straight, then go down the stairs on the left and into the side temple you can also find Ma Tianba in. Head up the stairs on the right, and loop around to the balcony with 2 enemies. Head through the doors and up the ramp, and follow the stairs just slightly to the left all the way up into the shrine room. After defeating him, return to the fox.
Mandrill Chief's Questline (cont'd)[]
From Valley of Ecstasy's Mindfulness Cliff Shrine, walk forward and drop down. Follow the path and you will come right above where Non-White first fight took place. The Skandha of Thought will be there.
Ma Tianba's Questline (cont'd)[]
His third location is in New Thunderclap Temple's Temple Entrance area. From the Shrine, proceed forward and go through the main temple here. Take the left staircase up and continue forward, then take the left staircase down. Head into the building in front and go to its second floor. On the second floor, turn left and continue to a long bridge/hall.
The Webbed Hollow[]
Purple Talisman's Questline[]
You need to find and rip off four talismans in Webbed Hollow and Temple of the Yellow Flower.
- From The Verdure Bridge, cross the bridge and take the right path. Drop down two times and turn left. Go uphill to where the tree is and turn right going uphill again. Continue and cross the wooden bridge and the first purple talisman will be ahead on the right. After she leaves, remove it.
- The second purple talisman is in Cliff of Oblivion. From the shrine turn around and it will be straight ahead in the water.
- The third purple talisman is in Relief of the Fallen Loong. From the shrine, turn around and go right into the cave. Then take a left and go around the hole, and then uphill. At the top, you can find the third talisman.
- The fourth purple talisman is in Temple of Yellow Flowers' Court of Illumination. From the shrine, continue forward up the stairs and it will be in the middle in the next area. Avoid the right path into the flower field as it'll start the boss fight and lock you out of finishing the quest.
This will summon Supreme Celestial Inspector and Crane Immortal.
Silkworm Deity's Questline[]
You will need to gather three Rice Cocoons and defeat Elder Amourworm to obtain Proto-Amourworm. Rice Cocoons are randomly dropped when destroying cocoons in Webbed Hollow. A good farm location is from Upper Hollow Shrine, just continue forward and stay to the right. You will soon come to an area with many cocoons. You can then give it to Chen Loong and feed the worm the Rice Cocoons to obtain its spirit.
Ma Tianba's Questline (cont'd)[]
His fourth location is in Webbed Hollow's Bonevault. After defeating Centipede Guai, proceed forward and he will be on the main path in a large cocoon.
Four Loongs Questline (cont'd)[]
Yellow Loong is located in Webbed Hollow's Relief of the Fallen Loong. Once you defeat Bodhisattva's Right Hand, you will use its body as a bridge to cross over and then drop down. Here you can take a left or right turn, take the left and cross over a long rope bridge. Continue going forward and there will be another bridge with Clawed Cocoon. You can use Cloud Step to easily traverse it. Then, continue following the path and you will exit out of the cave and reach a green area. Continue forward and you will run into the Relief of the Fallen Loong Shrine. Yellow Loong is a just straight ahead of the shrine. However, in order to be able to fight him, Red Loong, Black Loong and Cyan Loong must have been defeated, which would require Loong Scales.
Mandrill Chief's Questline (cont'd)[]
From Webbed Hollow's The Purifying Spring Shrine, continue into the next area. Its a big wide area with some water in the middle. As you go around the water, there will be a shooting enemy above you and you will need to head uphill. On the left side of the uphill are some wooden planks, follow them and you will see Mandrill Chief sitting on a Buddha head. Head there and collect the Skandha from the head. Alternatively, just go into the water and follow it until the other end.
Venom Daoist's Questline[]
You will need to find and defeat Venom Daoist in Webbed Hollow and Temple of the Yellow Flowers.
- The first encounter is in Webbed Hollow's Pool of Shattered Jade. From the Shrine, turn right and go past the Clawed Cocoons. At the end, there will be an Old Cocoon you can fight. As you do damage, the Venom Daoist will come out of it. Upon its defeat, he won't drop anything. However there is a secret drop from him: if during the fight, you destroy four of his back arms (top 2 back arms can't be destroyed), after his defeat, you will obtain Venomous Armguard. If his arms aren't destroyed during the fight, he will still lose them during the cutscene.
- The second encounter is in the Temple of Yellow Flowers. From the Court of Illumination Shrine, turn back and go straight past the two Staff Daoist. Continue going forward and follow the path. After going uphill for a while, you will come to a split: going downhill left or right. Go downhill left and in the big area, you will encounter Venom Daoist.
Upon his defeat, Venom Daoist will open the path to the secret area: Purple Cloud Mountain.
Hong Yi's Questline[]
You can talk with Hong Yi in Purple Cloud Mountain. You then need to talk with Daoist Mi and obtain the Violet Hail (Key Item) by defeating the nearby enemies. Give it to Daoist Mi and defeat him. Hong Yi will then appear and her quest will be complete. Important Note: If The Duskveil Secret-Boss is defeated before returning to Daoist Mi, he will disappear, and the quest becomes incompletable.
Yuan Shoucheng's Questline (cont'd)[]
His fourth location can be found from the Temple of Yellow Flowers' Temple Entrance Shrine. Go forward through the staircase, and at the top you will pass through a small gate. After that, turn slightly right and you will see another gate on the right wall. The area here will have a lot of Worm Practitioners. Continue straight and at the end on the left, there will be a blue shining Snake Sheriff guarding another staircase. Continue past him and you will see Yuan Shoucheng playing a musical instrument.
Flaming Mountains[]
Five Element Carts' Questline[]
You need to defeat Pale-Axe Stalwart and talk with him. You will need to defeat five element carts. Three are mandatory fights, one is Ma Tianba's location. All Four carts can be found before Field of Fire > Ashen Pass III. Talk with Pale-Axe Stalwart after each defeated cart or after defeating the Four, exhaust ALL dialogue (He will move locations after each dialogue). Then proceed to Field of Fire > Ashen Pass III. Once there, complete the Metal Ball chase sequence, backtrack to the last position of the ball before the cutscene and you will find a path to the side. Follow the side path until you reach the Cooling Slope shrine. The Fifth and final Cart is here, killing it and talking to Pale-Axe Stalwart will complete the quest. Completing the quest will lead to a secret location, Bishui Cave.
Ma Tianba's Questline (cont'd)[]
His fifth location is in Furnace Valley's Valley Entrance. From the Shrine continue the main path until you encounter a shield guy, then turn right and go into the lava. He will be stuck in a cart and you will need to pull a cord. Talk to him 3 times (pull the cord) or until he repeats his dialogue. After the fight with Keeper of the Flaming Mountains, go talk to Ma Tianba again, then he will give you his transformation spell as the final reward.
Yuan Shoucheng's Questline (cont'd)[]
In Chapter 5, from the Furnace Valley's Rakshasa Palace Shrine, proceed forward. Its a big wide area with two giant shield enemies. Facing the left giant enemy, turn left and in the corner, you can find Youan Shoucheng in a room there. Once you talk with him, interact with the fire in the middle of the room to obtain Supreme Gourd.
Mount Huaguo[]
Mandrill Chief's Questline (cont'd)[]
Once you have all four Skandha's, you can find Giant Shigandang in Chapter 6, who will turn hostile (without the four Skandhas, he won't be hostile). Once the boss is defeated, climb on him to get Skandha of Consciousness. Now with all five Skandhas, go talk with Xu Dog and choose "Show the Five Skandhas", then "Make Five Skandhas Pill". Xu Dog will then make the pill and the Destined One will automatically consume it.
Secret Ending[]
Erlang's Questline[]
A hidden questline that requires other questlines to be completed. You will need to defeat the secret bosses in each chapter: Elder Jinchi, Fuban, Green-Capped Martialist, The Duskveil and Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast. Then you can access Mount Mei secret area from The Great Pagoda Shrine in Pagoda Realm.
